Sweet Street show went great, also sold a painting. I wish her good luck and be loved a lot by who adopted her.

Oh, Ji-eun

I sometimes draw things for a singer-songwriter Ji-eun Oh, , my best friend,  for fun. She allow me to draw whatever, and let me have so much freedom when I am working on the project.  Even though she doesn't draw, she always could notice when I am not fully honest with my work. She used to draw better than I did when we are 9th grade.. whoa, it has been already more than 10 years now!

Busy but

Article about "Employers see retirement planning as retention tool". Idea sketches for SooJin Buzelli, Creative Director, PLANADVISER. 

Few tight deadlines lately, but I wanted to post this now because it's exciting to get a phone call from whom I respect, wanted to share this with my friends who visit here. I always tend to get too excited whenever I get a call from her, and would write long reply email. And she is super busy. Yes I'm bothering a big timer creative director. But really, this is my job, drawing images, and it's so much fun, and clients(art directors) take lots of charge of fun unless I work for myself(gallery).

May be many people do? I usually do idea sketches on the page with article, it helps me to consider whole page's layout and design. A lot of time it works better if I consider type and composition of the page when I draw for editorial illustration. 

OK back to work!

Cancer

Zodiac Sign Project for Chopping Block. I am especially happy with Cancer sign because I am Cancer, I had too much pressure by myself to get it right. However, after I let it go and just took it easy, it came out naturally. Making it difficult was me, good thing I finally realized to chill out. 

Though I wish I had more time so I could do both a boy and a girl version for every sign. Still re-working on few images that need improvement, the deadline is pretty tight.  I really appreciate that I have so many thing I want to get done this month. I think I am middle of a lesson how to balance me, life(rest/fun), and art(work/fun).
